Though Kelly-Anne is forever lost to us, we remember her spirit each day. We remember how she was in life, not just in her tragic death. She was a true original: kind, funny, intelligent, athletic, spunky, and full of boundless energy.

Kelly-Anne seems like she was a great person. We women have to learn from this horribly sad, horribly typical story, to take more responsibility for every aspect of our lives, and that includes in choosing our partners. The second someone shows disrespect, jealousy, or manipulative possessiveness, turf the bastard out. Get rid of him. Flush him. Call the police, change the locks - if the mistake of giving the jerk a key. Also, perhpas one day all women everywhere will raise their sons to have respect for people, for themselves, and especially for women. Maybe then, there will be less jerks and bastards out there. Maybe then, women will start to feel more confident, at least confident enough to avoid jerks. This in no way means to append blame to the victim, but at some point, women need to adjust their sensors and place higher value on themselves.

It seems like just yesterday that we were in the hospital, after receiving the most dreaded call about Kelly-Anne, wishing that this was all a nightmare, hoping it wasn't real. I will never forget that day, nor will I forget my days growing up knowing Kell, or yesterday, when I heard the verdict. An ending to what I am sure for the family, has been complete agony.

Doreen, John and Kim, it must have taken all the stregnth that you could possibly ever have to be there in that court room day in and day out. I can't even imagine how painful moments could have been. But in the end, it was a verdict on the side of justice. I just pray that the the justice system sets an example that violence of such will never be tolerated, towards anyone, by anyone.

Rachel, this site is just an example of what a great, strong, and dedicated friend you were and still are to Kelly-Anne...
